We have the wonderful opportunity to minister to the homeless at Pinellas Safe Harbor on the first and third Sundays every month. We provide the food and serve dinner to over 400 people each time. After dinner, we hold a worship service for those who want more of God, and we are able to preach the Gospel and pray with all who attend. If you would like to take part in this ministry, or want more information, please contact Cortland Bennett.
Responsibilities include: Serving food and/or praying with individuals at Pinellas Safe Harbor after a “church” service. Hats or hairnets (provided) needed to serve food. This is good training for those new to evangelism.
Days/Times: 1st and 3rd Sundays of the month. Meet at church at 4:45pm to take van and arrive by 5:00pm. Dinner served at 5:30pm, service at 6:00pm, then pray and finish up by 7:00pm and will be back at church by 7:30pm.
Qualifications: Must be 18 and physically able to stand and serve or pray with others.
Needs: More volunteers needed, especially people to pray. Need for a volunteer to pick up food from Sam’s Club on Saturday mornings before the outreach and deliver it to church. Need a backup to prep vegetables, put meatloaf in oven, slice and butter bread, load food into van, take out garbage and deliver meals to Safe Harbor with our cook.
