Through a team of volunteers, we provide meals to members of Suncoast in times of need. Specifically after the birth of a baby, after surgery or hospitalization, or for a meal for the family after a funeral service. We also help with the meals for our Redemption Outreach. New volunteers are always welcome!!!
We provide a complete meal and deliver it to the recipient. The meal can be homemade or store bought. We attempt to accommodate allergies and food preferences. We strive to work out a schedule that benefits the recipient the most while working with the schedule of volunteers.
The Meals Ministry coordinator is made aware of a need, either through a direct request or a referral by someone within the church. If someone is referring another person they must check with the coordinator to first see if we can meet the need. Once the need is established the coordinator contacts the volunteers to see who is available to supply a meal. Meals are provided for one week (between 3 to 4 meals for the week, delivered every other day). If there are those in the home who are able to provide meals for the needy party, we may deny the request for meals. Due to the volume of need we choose to serve those who have no other optons.
